Verizon is a CDMA provider and doesn't use SIM Cards. the only way to activate it is to call Verizon or go to the Verizon store, and activate the ESN.
Reply:No. You must get it activated by a cell service. You can dial 911 in an emergency from any cell phone, even if it is deactivated.
Reply:yes
Reply:sure can, just check to see if verizon activates outside phones, they should, i used to work for cingular, and you can do it, as long as the phone was up to date (GSM) which means takes the sim card, but if verizon is like cingular, then no other card would work for that phone except for a verizon sim card, because almost all phones have locks on them, to prevent other companies of getting their equipment, but in all said short, sure you can, just call verizon...
Reply:YES

I THINK
Reply:Yes, you can get it activated with just a phone card. You should be able to have all the benefits of having a regular cell phone.
