On prepaid phone cards - what does 10 cents a mniute mean?

I'm kinda confused about prepaid phones, all the phones I see say 10 cents a minute and I think no contract/credit card charges. What does the 10 cents a minute mean, and how does it charge? When you buy the prepaid phone cards, does it mean it charges 10 cents a minute to the 25$ phone card you buy?

Reply:i'm pretty sure it means you get charged 10 cents every minute you talk on the phone. so yeah if you buy a $25 phone card, 10 cents would be taken out every minute you talk.
Reply:it means that each minute cost ten cents off your phone card so if you talked for 10 mins on a twenty dollar phone card you would have spent one dollar and still have 19 dollars left . hope that helps
Reply:yeah if u buy a $20 card then you have 200 mins...for each minute u talk it takes off $.10...be careful tho most of the time the round up to the next minute if you dont talk a full minute...
Reply:you are correct. You bought the card for $25, so they will charge you .10 a minute until your $25 is gone and then it end the call and you cant use it anymore. You cant go over so you dont need a credit card or anything. Thats why its called "pre-paid", cause you have already paid for the minutes when you bought it. hope this helps. So you get 250 minutes. which is 4 hours and 17 monutes.

t-mobile seems to have the best pay-go contract here in the states.
