Will international phone / calling cards work with virgin cell phones?

Virgin mobile's long distance rates pretty much suck. I was wondering if i would save anything if i decided to use a $5 international calling card, or would i just be getting charged double?

note* I'm from Ontario, Canada

Well a calling card has mintues on it. If you are using the calling card from your phone, you will be using your regular mintues plus the calling card mintues.
Reply:I have come across a phone service that allows you to make international calls by simply dialing a local rate phone number. So if you can make free local calls (free inclusive minutes on your phone tariff), then this will be included and the international call will be free. See the links below for more details.... I have been using this service for over 12 months now and i also noticed that there is a special offer for new customers....
